Movie begins by showing unknown female fighting with a male inside the car and finally she shot him to the head. Five years ago, similar female, known as Riley North, is seen doing a job as a bank teller in Los Angeles, her and his husband are working hard to survive due to financial problems. Her husband Chris owns mechanic shop which hardly get customers. They have a daughter who is ten years of age “Carly”. Chris’ has a friend who told him about a deal to rob Diego Garcia, a feared drug dealer and money launderer. Chris rejects to participate in such deal due to high risk of losing his life, but before informing his friend that he will not participating in such deal Garcia has already found out his involvement and ordered his thugs to make an example of him.
In one evening, Riley and Chris decided to out with Carly (daughter) for pizza also they went to a carnival for her birthday because no one showed up to her party. At the carnival, Carly orders peppermint ice cream. As the family walks to the car, Diego’s thugs shot down her husband and daughter. She was hurt, but survives, her family (Husband and daughter) lost their life.
